Re: Wish us luck - buying new house

We are looking to buy also towards the end of the year but we need to sell our house first.  I wish we were able to afford both mortgages at the same time, as our current house would show MUCH better without kid toys and other misc clutter out of the way.

Good luck both on finding a new place and selling the old!

The original plan was to sell our condo before putting in an offer, or at least be under contract on the condo, but I've seen several units in our building sell fairly quickly recently, and we saw something that we really liked, so we decided to go for it.  If I have to carry both properties for a while, it won't be great, but we are fortunate to be able to swing it if need be.  I know what you mean about the kid toys and clutter.  I don't even recognize my condo after we moved everything out of it and fixed it up.

Re: Wish us luck - buying new house

I now feel everyone's pain that has had to wait through this process.  It is maddening.  We put in an offer on Sunday.  We were told we'd hear something today.  It's not like that's even a long time, but I feel like it is taking forever.  Can't concentrate on work.  Keep updating the listing to make sure it hasn't gone under contract to someone else.  Keep checking e-mail.  Promise myself I won't call my agent again to confirm he still hasn't heard anything.  Ugh.  A couple days ago I wasn't even sure I wanted to put in the offer.

Thanks!  We were competing against another buyer.  Found out today that the other buyer walked away.  We expect them to counter our offer tonight or tomorrow morning.

Thanks!  We are now under contract on the house!  Next step, getting that condo sold.  The seller on the house wanted 70 days to close, so it actually works out well, giving us plenty of time to get the condo sold.

Re: Wish us luck - buying new house

Closing this Thursday on the new house.  Heard from the lender today that everything is set, the only thing left for them to do is pull my credit one last time before close.  That shouldn't be an issue.  Haven't apped for anything, and I'm showing only 1% utilization.  We'll move the last of our stuff out of the condo on Friday, and then get our remaining things out of storage on Saturday.

And we are under contract on our condo as well.  Scheduled to close on the condo sale on May 8.

Can't wait!
