Withdrawing an offer

Hello.. I put in an offer on a property..I'd like to withdraw it now. The seller has not yet accepted. I did not give any earnest money. How does this work?

You or your realtor will notify the buyer that the offer has been withdrawn.

Send a notification in writing to your Realtor right away withdrawing the offer. Usually email is sufficient but check your contract form (offer form) to see if there is another format required. Make sure it is in writing.

Thanks for your replies!

The offer was open through 5pm today. Do I still need to withdraw my offer?

Re: Withdrawing an offer

Depends upon what your form states.  It doesn't hurt to withdraw it now with a simple email since it is after the time deadline. In fact, it is better to be a little redundant than to take the chance. Send your email to your agent. Your agent will follow through on his or her end to the listing agent.
