Why does the underwriter need a copy of bankruptcy paperwork when it shows on my report as discharged 4 years ago

I don't know why. I do know that it is normal for the underwriter to request and receive a copy of the petition. It is readily available on PACER.

Re: bankruptcy

The petition has detailts that a discharge document does not. Also, An underwriter can ask for whatever they want and that's why they are the "gods" of mortgage applications. They hold the powers to make us happy or mad as heck.
