buying a home

We were discharged chapter 7 in December 2013. We are interested in purchasing a new home in January 2016 after our two year purgatory is up.  We have several open trade lines, scores around 660-680. We have a home in another state that was included in bankruptcy and not reaffirmed.  We have always been current on the mortgage and it has been consistently rented for a little over 3 years.  When we decide to purchase another home will be be required to sell our rental home or can we show proof of consistent rent?  The real estate market is much slower in the area of our rental home and we hope to continue renting it out until the market improves.

Re: buying a home

This is going to be a mortgage broker question, and they probably won't even be able to give you a solid answer until you apply for the mortgage and go through underwriting.

Having two mortgages is a hard sell without a BK, it's going to be even tougher with.
