Re: mortgage in wife name only?

With that you need to make sure the wife has the credit and income to afford the mortgage but Cali is a community property state so both husband and wife will be on the deed

Re: mortgage in wife name only?

Does that mean the husband would have to qualify for the loan since CA is community property?

I bought the house in my name only last year. I'm in OR, NOT a c.p. state. (Thank gawd). Will put husband on the deed when child support crap ends. (11/12/12) - wow! Next month.

Re: mortgage in wife name only?

No just on the deed in my situation ky is a CP state and my wife had really really bad credit but I have decent credit and good income so the loan is in my name but.she is on the deed so in the eyes of the law she owns the house with me but isnt responsible for the loan. So if we divorced or she got sued the could take the house

As long as her DTI will support it, I don't see why not.  Good Luck
