obtaining new mortgage after C-13 discharge

Hi!

I have a question to any mortgage savvy people only please~

We have finished and are awaiting discharge papers on our 100% payback c-13.

We were never late on a mortgage or any CC's prior to filing our C-13, however, we felt the need to do the C-13.

We have paid our mortgage and one vehicle OUTSIDE our plan. One vehicle was paid off inside our plan.

We are getting ready this week to make the final payment on the second car that was outside our plan.

My question here is that we keep hearing about how mortgage companies won't make you a new loan until 2 years AFTER your discharge,

yet every now and again I hear someone say that statement is NOT true.

When checking our CS a few weeks ago, it was 780, which kind of shocked me.  In a good way.

Husband works 38 miles from where we live, and at this time, we want to sell our current home

and move closer to his work.

We don't want to rent, we would like to buy, but I'm sick of hearing that you have to wait 2 years after discharge before obtaining

a new mortgage.

We are a little different, as we were never late on our bills prior to filing, we just had SO much debt, we saw it as the

best way to get it paid off in 5 years.

But our mortgage was never in jeopardy, prior to, or now, in payment.

We make good money, have good jobs... and now are debt free....

We are trying to take steps to get our score even higher...

because husband has put so many miles on car, we are planning on purchasing a new car... and some say that will HURT our already high score

How is that possible?  I know obtaining debt is bad, but you gotta start somewhere to re-establish the credit right??!

I've talked with some Mortgage Brokers, and I get different stories... and that's about it~  they really don't want to listen to your case~ and that's just it... EVERY CASE IS DIFFERENT!
