"Up for UW approval"

I got a message today that I was "up for Underwriter approval"  Does anyone know typically how long it takes for the mortgage commitment after hearing something like this?

You'd have to get specifics... when I say that it means that the file is next on the underwriters desk, and depending on how complicated your file is would determine how long it'd take to underwrite.  Could be as little as 30-60 minutes, could be several hours or the following day.  Your loan officer may have meant it just went into the underwriting queue, and so there could be dozens or even hundreds of files in front of yours.  Feel free to ask your loan officer questions when you don't understand something, that way you'll always be on the same page.
