Hmm, I dont think its the rate as much as the particular UW and lender criteria they follow - big lenders may be somewhat flexible while small portfolio lender = most stringent on UW rules..
Granted your husband gets paid in cash, what about Pay-stubs? W2s?? If you have neither of these, they cannot technically include that income in DTI..
