which credit score is more important?

We are an unmarried couple buying a home together and have very different credit scores -- 700 and 820.  Will the higher one pull the rate down, or the lower pull it up?

Each of you will actually have 3 scores (one from TransUnion, one from Experian, and one from Equifax).  The bank will take the lowest middle score (i.e. if one buyer has 720/700/680 scores, and the other has 820/800/780 scores, the qualifying score used will be the "700" middle score of the first buyer).
