Don't mind at all! Six years ago this month, I came to MyFICO. I knew next to nothing about credit scores other than mine sucked.
I believe at that point, my scores were in the mid to high 500s. I had a student loan defaults and a public record for a medical bill. Things improved pretty quickly, once I started paying attention. Two things were key factors: No more late payments/defaults, and be patient for bad stuff to fall off. I think it took about three years for my scores to be really decent (700+). I've been a very careful caretaker for my credit since then, and continue to see rewards in my scores. Good luck to you!
