Penfed Perosnal Loan Offer - Mailer

I received a pre-approval for a Penfed personal loan for $25k but the rate is 14.99% - ugh. Has anyone ever tried calling to see if they would reduce the rate? Just curious...

That must be your pre-approved rate. You could certainly call them to see if you'd qualify for a lower rate but more than likely it will result in a HP.

I got one too @ 9.99% so it seems targeted and unlikely to budge unless your credit report improved since they pulled for preapproval, but YMMV of course.

Thanks guys - I called today and they said I would have to app for a loan if I wanted to try to get a lower rate
