I just pulled my credit reports and noticed on the equifax report that a repo from atleast 10 years ago (probably early 2002) has re-appeared on my report. It is showing the date reported as 8/31/2012, Date of first deliquency of 11/2005, date first major deliquency reported 4/2012. I have no paperwork at all of this loan. Is this a standard challenge and should I just state that the data of the deliquencies are incorrect and are all actually over 7 years old?

Hate it when those old accounts pop up, especially when they are on life support. You say it was at least 10 years ago, according to the report the only date you need be concerned with is the 11/2005. This is the one that sets the clock for the CRTP of 7 years + 180 days. So Naturally this would fall off in about 7 months or so according to that date.
However you say it is older than that. Do you have any proof? Was this on old reports? Do you have any paperwork from the OC?
My date of first deliquency likely would have been in 2001. The truck was repo'd in 2002. This is an item that already aged off of my reports and now just popped back on with new dates. I do not have any paperwork from this loan.
Sounds like a case of reaging. My advice to you is to send them a DV. Since this just popped up, you should by law receive a dunning letter from them within 5 days. Your DV will be timely in this case, within the 30 days period which is where it carries the most weight.
Will do. Thanks for the help.
