11 Point Increase

I was sitting here just about to post a message asking the great credit wizards how long will it take for me to see an increase for paying down my credit card utlilization from 35% to about 3% (reported to bureaus on the 25th and 26th) and my last negative account showing a zero balance (from $434) reported to bureaus on the 13th. then BAM I get an email for a score change.  Smiley Surprised I nervously log on to see that it is none of the items that caused a score increase but one of my student loans has taken off the dispute comment. It didn't say anything else changed.

Of course I am happy about the increase but I'm still anxiously awaiting the increase from the utilizilation and the collection showing paid. I am hoping to reach 680ish by mid-July to apply for a mortgage. Fingers crossed.

Congrats!! I didn't know having disputes listed on your CR could affect your score though! That is new information!

Disputes aren't factored in until the dispute is finished.

Having an OC account in dispute removes certain aspects of the account from scoring.  Once completed your score will either stay the same or go up or down depending on the outcome.  Collections and PR are never removed from scoring.

On an OC account they are immediately factored in.

Re: 11 Point Increase

Wait, so what exactly isn't factored in during a dispute?

In an OC account, the CL, balance and payment history are left out of factoring.  AAoA and history are not.

Re: 11 Point Increase

Neither did I, but when 4 disputes first hit my report my score went down 30 points. The amounts never changed while in dispute & nothing was removed. Glad to see I got some of those points back.
