$110 Medical Collection

Long story short: I got an alert in April for a medical collection for $110. I paid it then call the OC (Quest) to have it removed. The lady said that they will update in a few weeks. Well, it is now a Paid collection. So then I called the CA but they refuse to remove. 

We will app for a mortgage in a few weeks and I really do not want this hurting us as a recent default on our credt. Our middle scores right now is 639 and 673

what can I do to get a paid medical collection deleted asap?! Help please. Thanks in advance.

You need to try a GW.  When the lady said they would update, they did.  But they just updated it to paid, and they are required by law to do that.  But a paid collection is scored the same as an unpaid.

I had the SAME issue for a $50 bill. I tried Goodwill letters, voicemails, disputes to no avail. This past week, I called and cried (literally) my way up to the manager of Berks.... and after MUCH begging and telling him my kids would be homeless if I didn't get it off, he removed it. Just updated yesterday  It didn't update my score though which I am confused about.   Good luck and don't give up!!!

We can't talk about this here but you need to go to google and search "why chat hippa letter".
This will show you how to get it removed as its a medical collection.

Thanks you all. I have done so much to clean up my husband and I credit until at this point, I am tired. LOL

I reviewed the tradeline today and see that it just says paid with no dates on there so I will just leave it be for now. Thanks everyone for your help. 

BTW, thanks for the chat letter, I will try it with the 3 other med collections that DH has.
