Was it an old CO? Sometimes the history outweighs the damage a CO can cause.
If you fight it, expect a drop in score. By law, though, if you disputed via the CRA, the CRA has 5 days to send you a written notification that they are going to reinsert. I think you can pursue this further, but not without a score drop.
