2006 Late Payment and Mortgage Approval

Hello,

We are applying for a mortgage and I have one 30 day late payment from 2006.  I read that having taken off via a successful GW letter can possible negatively affect the mortgage approval.  Wondering if I should try a GW or not.  My low scores are both 659 and my high is 691.  I need to get the 659s above 660 within a week or two. Advice is greatly appreciated!

I would not touch that 30 day late. It's from 2006 and no affect on a UW decision. When in 2006 did it happen? It's going to fall off your TL this yr and that account will become a positive TL.
