Today is bitter sweet. Two of my first ever charge accounts were supposed to age off this month. I opened them in 1990, but closed them in Decembert of 2004 in positive status (the stores were no longer at my local mall and I wasn't really into online shopping yet). I was hoping they would slip through the cracks as they were my AAOA anchors....but they aged off tonight tanking my score by 35 points!
Does anyone have any idea how long it is going to take me to recoup the 35points? Will my creditors take AA against me? (I'm very very sad...)
Ouch! Bummer. My oldest, completely positive account (auto loan opened 2001) aged off a couple months ago and my score actually rose a few points. Go figure.
I doubt anyone will take AA against you for this. You will recover the points as the accounts you have now age.
