Almost 30 days ago we submitted an online dispute with EQ to have two negatives removed. These two represent the last two baddies on my wife's credit. (I have already had them removed from both EX and TU)
Both baddies are over 7 years of age. We even received a 1099-C for one of them this year, which if I understand 1099C's, discharges the debt.
My question is this, Equifax has had this dispute for almost a full 30 days. It still reads as "Pending" in their online status screen. (I printed a screenshot of course).
My understanding is that EQ is required to investigate the dispute AND get back to us within 30 days or we can then force removal from my wife's Equifax credit report.
So my question is; Am I correct? If after the 30 days have expired, I can send them a letter with documentation of the dispute submission, acceptance by EQ and current status as "pending" indicating longer than 30 days has transpired and have get EQ to remove the baddies?
I have print outs of every thing, from original submission receipt to current status all reflecting dates.
My understanding is further that once I have sent them the demand for removal letter and they have received it (i will have proof), EQ will have 15 more days to complete the removals. (45 days total) .
Is that correct?
Thanks in advance.

Okay. Not worried because BOTH are indeed over the 7 year mark. Both TU and EX removed both already so I would think EQ will follow suit sooner or later anyway.
EDIT: I am not sure we went off the free report at annualcreditreport.com or not now that I think about it.
I pulled a three bureau report from Freecredireport.com (She has a membership) and then went directly to the Equifax website and started their own online dispute directly.
Would that fall as a 45 day or 30 day dispute?

Yea it was online via Equifax's own website, not Annualreport.com
Is that 30 days or 45?
