i recently checked my report....and found a 30/60/90 late payment from november 2004 - jan 2005, on an account that has been closed since november 2005 this account was closed specifically over this late payment which was the result of a representative having told me that the annual fee had been waived. since i hadnt used the card ... and wasnt expecting to be charged a fee...i neglected to pay it. my question is .... is there anything i might be able to do to resolve this ....as its the only negative factor on any of my 3 credit reports. thanks for any input
Hello and welcome to myFICO.
Late payments stay for 7 years from each individual date of delinquency so these all should be gone by 1/2012. The 30 and 60 day lates are probably not hurting much now if at all but the 90 day is pretty bad and will hurt the entire 7 years in my opinion.
You can write GW (Good Will) letters and ask that they be removed early but at this point that's about your only option.
