623 Letter Luck?

Hello,

Anyone have any luck with 623s?  I sent a bunch out yesterday for some old baddies.  Approximately 6 years old.  Some close to 7.

Re: 623 Letter Luck?

A letter under FCRA 623(a)(8) is a direct dispute, filed directly with the party who furnished the information to the CRA.

The furnisher is required to mail a notice of results of their investigation back to you within 30'ish days after your dispute, provided that you met the basis requirements for a direct dispute  which include identification of the information that is asserted to be inaccurate, and adequate showing of how the reporting is inaccurate.

However, if you did not support a showing of an inaccuracy, they can dismiss the direct dispute without any investigation.

Did you clearly document a specific inaccuracy?

If so, then you will receiver a reply within approx 30 days plus mailing time.

The outcome will depend upon whether there is an error.
