No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I started out by opening two new cards and BTing everything that I could not pay off immediately to 0% offers (about $30k). The are rewards cards so I also changed our household spending to put everything on the rewards cards and PIF the new charges monthly. That allowed me to save the interest while getting cash rewards it to pay down even more. Then I got SP CLIs and rate reductions on most of my cards, there were a few CLI denials and one large CLI that required a HP. Other than high utilization and maxed out cards, my only credit issue was a single 30 day late from 2012. A GW letter took care of that with really good results. Finally, I threw a lot of money at the problem to get down to 5% util. I used work bonuses and liquidated assets to pay for much of the balance paydown. I sold off stock, sold some stuff that I can live without, rolled pocket change, etc... Just don't mess with your retirement accounts if you are going to do this. I still need to pay down about $2k on my student loan to get to an even higher score but I can't afford to for a few months while keeping some money in reserve for buying the new house.

Pretty close once everything hit all three. EQ is the lowest due to it showing more HPs at 797. 802 is the average of the three with 804 on both TU and EX.
Very good job!! Congrats.
Bull's eye! Awesomely done!
Awesome results! Good luck on your new home finding adventure!
Congrats! I was in a similar boat as you in February. Paid down all my cards from 90% to 0%, had some records/CO deleted from CRAs, and updated late payments. Went from 650 to 780 across the board. Had 3 cards with a total CLI of $5,000. Now my total CLI is $50K with 3 new premium travel cards in the arsenal and plenty of nice CLI.
I think most people that goes our route either have really high UTI, plenty of money to fix stuff, and a few late payments/old records that are dropping in a few months due to the 7 years limit. Besides that, I don't think how it's possible to go high 700s/low 800s that quick.
Here's my trail:
12/01/2015 EQ 659 TU 659 EX 664
02/24/2016 EQ 664 TU 665 EX 695
03/02/2016 EQ 664 TU 704 EX 722
03/06/2016 EQ 664 TU 715 EX 722
03/11/2016 EQ 681 TU 773 EX 776
03/20/2016 EQ 681 TU 773 EX 785
04/01/2016 EQ 681 TU 763 EX 765
04/15/2016 EQ 785 TU 763 EX 776 (Score will be going up for EQ and TU as the new cards haven't show up on it. Currently 2 shows up on EX)
That's amazing! Good work!

Congrats on your score and your new home.
