A bank gave me a mortgage!!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on this site.  I am so grateful I found it and had the opportunity to read everyone’s stories and advice.  I started this process with a credit score well under 600.  I am not sure what my fico was but my fako was about 550.  After some hard work and determination, last Tuesday my husband and I closed on our first house.  A bank was actually willing to loan us a LOT of money.  I really didn’t think we would ever own our own home.  So thank you thank you thank you.

Congrats! It was due to this site in large part that DW and I closed on our first home come 3 years ago this month. We started in the low to mid-500s and got the loan with a mid-score close to 700. Definitely the folks here were instrumental on that.

My middle score was 661 (thats the one the lender used) and my husbands was 671.
