A legal way to stop companies from monitoring your report?

Hello:

Is there anyway to have companies stopped from monitoring a credit report monthly?

It's a soft pull every month for a year and I think they are checking to see if I can be pursued for a deficiency judgment (after a Short sale).

I know these pulls do not affect my score and other companies cannot see these pulls, but can I get them to stop?

How do I authorize them to check in the first place?

Thoughts.

You can try OptOutPrescreen.com

That will probably help, but you won't be able to receive credit offers.

I don't believe you can stop them if they have a legitimate reason - i.e., you owe them money or are using one of their products.

optoutprescreen.com is correct for keeping you off of mailing lists for credit offers and the like.

If they ever extended credit to you or are attempting to collect a debt they have PP.
