I am helping a friend who is going through a rough divorce with her credit.

Credit Limit or original amount - $1,222
High Balance - $0

Recent payment - $0

I have disputed this letting them know it is not hers it is her soon to be ex-husband's and it was still validated. What is the next step that I should take? Any suggestions or any success of removal from others?
Depending on WHOSE names(s) are on the account - it may still be hers.....Creditors do not have to follow the divorce decree. If both names are on the account but he agreed to pay it in the divorce - then she is going to have to file a Motion for Contempt in the divorce action. The creditors can still come after her if her name was on the contract.
If her name is NOT on the contract and she can prove it (still has a copy of it) - then she needs to dispute with the documentation - or contact DirectTV to see if she can get that information - or get them to stop trying to collect from her.
She states it is not hers and she never signed a thing. We will send out a DV letter today via email and snail mail/CM/RRR. Thanks. If anyone else has any advice, we would love to hear it. Thanks
