So I have been attempting to GW AFNI to remove an entry on my credit report. It was from a time when I was married to my first wife, and financial responsibility was not high. Early last year I got a collections notice from them, and immediately sent a check in the mail for the requested amount. Obviously it went on my report as settled for less. After studying up here and learning, I recently started emailing them asking for it to be removed. I didn't get a response back. I called today, and the lady I talked to said that there was nothing they could do. I emailed one more time, and then searched the internet for the CEO and some other execs and emailed them. I explained the whole situation and laid it out, and kindly asked for assistance. I got an email reply within half an hour from their recovery team with the following:
Dear Me,
Thank you for your inquiry. We have filed a request with all three major credit reporting agencies to delete the listing by Afni from your credit report.
Yay! I'll wait until it's done before I am too happy, but it sure sounds promising. Thanks for all the support everyone. Shogun, thanks for telling me to keep on keepin on.
As an aside, will ScoreWatch notify me when that's done?
Thanks! Apparently there was more to the email they sent that I didn't notice because I checked it on my phone. They also sent an attachment, with their promise to delete on a printable letter on their company's letterhead. Furthermore, they sent a reference number so that I can check the deletion or it's progress. They certainly came through for me, super excited.
