Earlier this year, I paid an AFNI collection in full, but the collection was still showing as unpaid on my credit reports. I sent an email to their public email address asking them to please update the account as paid with the CRAs I didn't mention anything about a deletion. The next day they responded saying they would delete the listing from all 3 credit reporting bureaus. This was back in early July and the collection is still showing on my reports, and unpaid at that.
Just curious if anyone else has had similar issues with these dudes and what they did about it.
Thanks

Politely remind them. Mine was gone the next day.

Thanks - that did the trick! They finally deleted the item which resulted in a sweet 44 point increase on my EQ score.

There is litle that can be done about an informal statement of intent to delete.
As for updating the balance to reflect paid, it is a disputable inaccuracy, and they were required under FCRA 623(a)(2) to have promtply updated the information.
A dispute compels a response within 30 days.
