When I look at my SW report for EQ on here, I see this:
Credit At-A-Glance
$854 past due on 1 account | 9 Years | 8 |
I located what the $854 is. It's a collection from AFNI. Can that report in the "total past due" column, I thought that was for debt like loans/cc's etc? This is showing on my "accounts" section of report instead of under "collections".
Here is how the AFNI tradeline appears:
Credit Account Afni-Bloom
Status as of Apr, 2011 |
Date openedJan, 2010 |
DOLA Nov, 2006 |
Largest past balance$854 |
Account TypeOpen Account |
Account holderIndividual |
IndustryFactoring Companies |
$854 | Bad debt/collection | $854 |
Best way to handle? According to TU report it is set to be removed in October 2013
EDITED: I posted this as a reply but will post here to:
They are DELETING!!!
I decided to e-mail a DV today, short sweet simple not threatening verbage.
Just got this as the reply:
Dear Awdsmama,
Thank you for your inquiry. Afni has investigated your account and during the course of this investigation the decision was made to close this account. This action does not indicate the account was not due and owing, simply that Afni is ceasing collections on the same. If Afni had furnished information regarding your account to the credit reporting agencies a request has been filed with them to remove the information regarding this account from your credit file. If you have further questions a representative of Afni can be reached at 1-866-716-1284

I apologize for the poor formatting!
It's on Life support, that's for sure. It's got about 10 months left before it is naturally excluded from your CR. I would contact them and offer a settlement for a PFD.

Thank you Shogun, I always appreciate your quick replies and advice!
I have only PFD'd RJM - and we know how easy they are. How is AfNI in comparison? Would they laugh at $100? $200?
JUST NOTICED:
On my TU report they report under Collections. But on EQ they report under Accounts (where my HSBC is for example).
Can I dispute one of those as reporting incorrectly?
They must be reporting as a Factoring Company. I wouldn't worry about it. Offer them $100 and see if they accept or counter.
Thanks, will fire it off tomorrow!
I also have a AFNI on my report for a T-Mobile acct that falls off in June, 2013 ($1.224) and ive tried everything under the sun as far as DV to PFD and these people wont move a inch, ive read that they are very tuff to deal with, im ganna keep a eye on your post cause i would like to see how you made out...keep us posted and good luck.
They also report the same way on my EQ and TU

OMG I'm soooo excited about this. How long can I expect the process to take from them telling CRAs to delete to it actually happening?
