So, I got a letter today from a CA, AFNI, theyre not on my report and I'm freaking out, what should I do? I dont want them on my CR do I validate? Should I pay the OC then validate it?

Send them a DV.

Two options.
If the debt is legit and you can afford to pay, then making an immediate pay for not reporting might give both satisfaction of the debt and avoid their reporting.
Sending a DV will preclude any such negotiations until they choose to validate, and if they validate, they can immediately report.
If you have questions as to the debt or its amount, then best to obtain validation prior to paying. Your DV, if timely (i.e., sent without having received dunning notice, or sent within 30 days of receipt) will impose a temp cease collection bar, preventing their reporting until such time as they send validation.

My unfortunate experience with AFNI is that even though I had an agreement to pay, the day before I made payment they reported to the credit bureaus. They mentioned nothing on the phone when I called in the payment, and when I found out about this they would not delete. They did not have on record my due date, which was the reason they reported. They said it was due a week before it was. Live and learn, get everything in writing, especially from AFNI.

You have no due date with a CA. Unless you are speaking specifically of your arrangements with them.

Yes, I had payment arrangements.

The first thing I would do is send them a GW. See how that goes. I actually had AFNI come off my CR with a couple of GWs to the address listed on my CR.
