CRA policy, clearly set forth in their standard credit reproting manual, is that a debt collector must delete their collection if their collextion authority was teminated while the debt remained unpaid.  While AFNI did not report, had they done so, you would have had two active collections reporting on the same debt.

Ergo, CRA policy that debt collector 1 delete if their authority is terminated.

 

Thus, there would be basis, if it is shown that they did not have collection authority at time of satisfaxtion of the debt, to delete their collection.

Yeah, that was my thinking as well. That was why I selected "other"  for the dispute, and said they had no collection authority in the comment. Hopefully it will disappear!
