Hi everyone,
I have a $550 collections with AFNI from an old AT&T cell phone bill fomr 2013 that I want to PFD but the CA isn't budging and refused to offer a PFD. My question is can AT&T recall the debt so I can pay them directly and then get the AFNI collections removed from my CR? If so, how to do I go about convincing AT&T to recall the debt?
Thanks for everyone's input.
They can recall the debt, the question is will they. Just give them a call and ask. Good luck!
If the OC still owns the debt, they would not "recall the debt." The debt was not acquired by the debt collector.
You would be requesting them to terminate their assignment to the debt collector to attempt collection on their behalf.
They would have to terminate before accepting payment, which would then put into play the CRA reporting guideline that a debt collector delete their collection if their collection authority has been terminaed without payment of the debt.
