Hello guys (and girls),
I am relatively new to these forums, and I have been reading a lot (@P- you are an inspiration to us all). I have asked a couple of questions, and the community has been awesome. So thank you all.
I have another question, which I am sure it has already been asked, and is buried amongst the thousands of threads. I searched, but to no avail.
I just added myself to someone's account as an AU. They have a 2 year payment history, with no lates of any kind (Capital One Card with $2000.00 CL), I even ordered a card on my name (which I will never use but I read that sometimes unless you activate a card, it won't start reporting). Will that entire history of the account show up on my report, or just from the moment I was added to the account?
Thanks
You should be able to get the whole history reported.
It depends on the creditor and how they report AUs. Some will backdate your CR to show all history etc, others will only show it as a new account opened on the day it reports.
Thank you guys both for your response. We are talking about Capital One. Any specifics about how Capital One does this?
Thanks everyone.
Cap1 only backdates on certrain CP, however I'm not sure which ones. I know for a fact the rebuilders do not backdate.
I'd love to know the answer for Cap One, but for everyone's awareness, USAA DOES NOT report AUs. That's what they told me when I tried to add me onto my wife's unsecured CC. Their website also says that doing so will not help me rebuild my credit. Bummer.
I will update you guys as soon as capital one reports on jan 3rd. im planning on pulling a new report by January 10th.
