Added as an AU

Will being added as an AU on my moms discover card (600 balance 9k limit, 10yrs old perfect payment history) help my util and AAoA? I'm gonna call tonight to verify they'll report.

Addition as an AU will result in the entire history being scored by FICO.

It will also result in the inability of a potential creditor, if they desire, to evaluate your own credit risk based on the resulting FICO score.

Its a trade-off in FICO score benefit vs the value of your score as an indication of your own, personal payment risk.

Are you seeking score improvement for purposes of apping for credit where the credtior is likely to do a manual review of your CR, or are they most likely to look only at your FICO score?

For right now, just the score...in 6 months or so, a manual review..by then our scores will be "healthy" enough without my mom's card..
