The old Tribute card is with Midland. I am going to send them some sort of letter on Monday regarding the compucredit lawsuit to try to get this deleted. Any advice on what that letter should say?
The old Total card is with Plains Commerce. It was sold to Zenith which deleted from my credit report a couple of years ago, but Plains Commerce is still showing with a zero balance. When I called Plains last week asking about this, they said they had no information on the account such as DOFD and just knew it was sold to Zenith on 1/2007. Any advice on how to get this deleted?
Thanks!
I believe the tribute card was covered under the FTC ruling FTC vs Compucredit, you may want to send midland a letter, certified with return receipt, asking for deletion because of the FTC ruling. Check the FTC vs Compucredit on website, it will list all cards involved.
I also had a problem with plains commerce bank, they told me that they didn't have any info, and that I had to call the CA they had sold the debt, I got on the plains commerce website, and asked them how they could possibly verify the debt to the CRA's if they didn't have the info, they sent me a letter stating they would delete, and they did. Best wishes!
Thanks. How old was your Plains Commerce bank account and the DOFD? When I called them, they said they didn't have any information including DOFD.
do you leave them a message here?

I left a message on their website. Someone called me the next day and said she would have the information forwarded to Total card or someone else to have the tradeline deleted from my credit report. We'll see.
She also gave me a 1-8000 number for Total card.
I really think they will delete. They can't keep updating and verifying information to the CRA's if they don't have it. They deleted mine within a couple of weeks within me leaving the message in their contact page.
