Advice on Collection

Hi All,

So, on my TU and EQ I have one medical collection from Med Express for $130 from a visit for my daughter back in March, 2012.  Reported to CA in June, 2012.  I found it when I ran my annual credit report.  I set up an account with Med Express to pay the bill and couldn't find it.  I call the Med Express 800 billing line and was assured by an employee that everything was satisified by insurance and I do NOT have an outstanding debt with Med Express.  A certified letter stating as much is en route to me via USPS.

Concerning the collection company (their name slips my mind): I sent a PFD over one month ago but never received a response.  Now, I'm jacked off.  How would you go about handling this?  Send them copies and demand immediate removal from TU and EQ?  I ask because I thought I read where you can file a complaint against the CA and nail them with a fine.

My TU and EQ are both in the 690-700 range.  My EX, which does not show the collection, is 758.  I feel this collection hurt me in a recent app spree.  I received a Cap One Quicksilver, not the Venture.  I received the Chase Slate, not the Freedom, etc.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!!!

Re: Advice on Collection

Contact MedExpress and have them send you a letter or bill or anything showing that you do not owe the money.

Take that and send it along with a 623 Direct Dispute.  It will disappear.
