Hello everyone,
After reading this forum for a while, it has givien me the courage to jump in and fix my credit. I have the usual story of being out of control with my money while in college. I have a lot of issues but one I want to tackle first is charge off from Syncrony/Wal-mart (was GE Capital when I opened the card) that was sold to Porfotlio Recovery Assoc. It is listed as "account paid in full - was a charge off" I do know that I paid it off but I cant remember to who it was. Now the problem I have is that PRA is listing it as in collections.
Please offer any help as I want this off.

No. One is the OC and one is the CA. That is allowed.
Thanks for the reply Norman. I guess I get that as I have a couple others like that. I guess I'm concerned about the status. One says account was paid in full and the other says in collections. Seems like something is wrong but it could just be me wanting it to be easier. lol

When they sell it they must zero out the balance - thats where the "paid in full" comes from. Its not technichally accurate but disputing it will not likely result in anything other than it updating and dinging your score harder, because of its age.
