Sorry, not sure of the proper topic. I posted in General Credit Topics also.
I got an alert today from EQ monitoring servie (that I no longer use) about a new tax lien. I'm unaware of any lien so I ran my report thru USAA and no tax liens show. As I'm doing this I get an alert from myfico and so now at least I know that it's an old 2006 lien that used to be on TU & EX but never on EQ. The lien was just removed a month or two ago from both. I went directly to EQ to run a dispute and when I checked my report there is no lien, so I can't even file a dispute. I don't understand how alerts form 2 different sources can differ from the actual horse's mouth (report directly from EQ)?
Is this a ghost lien? I'm so confused!
Most likely false alerts, CK is known for them and other services can have same problems. I would monitor for next few days to be sure nothing shows.
Ghost liens ... be very afraid of them.

Oh, I am! I am very much! Not sure if I'll sleep tonight... it took just short of a year to get those things off! Ugh.
I wonder, since it never showed up on EQ before, is it possible for it to be reported all of a sudden 8 years later but since it was withdrawn this year it was removed before it really hit my report? Like a credit ninja? So it's somewhere in between an alert and a removed report, somewhere in limbo? Or in lienbo......
Today I got the alert from USAA, and ran today's daily all 3. NADA. This is so weird but at least I'm backing off from freaking out as much. Maybe it hit my report, created an alert, but the recent withdrawel blocked it from being acrually reported?
