My 2nd inquiry of 2013 (besides apartment shopping) came this weekend, as I was looking for a replacement laptop for work. I had the itch, and had done research on here of how GE was BK friendly as long as you have established credit since. To my surprise, I was approved for 600.00 online on the spot. I called the customer service dept to see if I could up the initial limit to 900.00, however no dice. Happy for the approval and 0% interest on any purchases over 149 for 6 months nonetheless
So now, 16 months post discharge, my wallet has
Cap One Plat 750 / Amazon Store 600/ Show MC 550(sock drawer, never used) Cap One Plat 500 / First National 350
From what I see, GE Credit is fairly generous with CLI after 4-6 months of use, and I will be using and paying my new card often.
Congrats!!!! Keep up the great work!!!
GE, short for GEMB.
They back many different store cards, Walmart, Lowes, Amazon, JC Penny, etc. You can do a search for GEMB backed cards and find tons of them.
Thanks everyone, and yes GE MB backs a load of store cards, and seem to be one of the few companies that are BK friendly with established credit post BK. I forgot to mention in the original post my first credit established after bk was my cap one auto loan which I still have approx 14 months reporting. My goal now is to have this Amazon become my largest TL by October, and by end of year replace one of the annual fee starter cards (Show, First National, Cap One 500 CL) with a daily use rewards card ( Cap One Cash Rewards, Barclays?)
FAKO was 644 when Amazon pulled, 21% util reported
Congrats!!!
just curious...was the pull TU only?
