It sounds like AmEx lawyers failed to show up in court for something and the case was vacated?

Just file a motion to vacate. Send AMEX notice of the motion via certified mail. When AMEX doesn't show up at the motion hearing, the judge will most likely vacate it. Worked for me once.

i don't live in the state it was filed anymore. I file a motion to vacate would I have to be present?

Yup either you or counsel you hire to represent you will have to appear at the hearing on the motion.

Amex said they will only take 80% since it's a judgement. Any ideas anyone? I didn't play he bankruptcy card.
