I have a currently active low limit ($520) HSBC credit card which has a few 30 day lates on it all from 3-4 years ago. Anyone had any luck getting old lates removed? What method should be used? What has the quickest result?
Thanks for any suggestions or success stories.
I had two accounts with HSBC, both closed, both up to 90 days late back in 2007/08, both had all lates gone with a GW letter. Easy as pie. I wrote the address on the billing statement and that was that.
Good luck!
I got Orchard Bank to remove a 90 day late with one GW letter sent to the address on the back of my card. Unfortunately, BBRZMC is being much more difficult. I've sent two letters and even went through Execution Resolutions over the phone and they won't budge. They say they can't remove the 30 day late because it was not an error on their end and even tried to say it would be illegal, which is a blatant lie. Gotta keep on trying, I guess. If one HSBC card removed the late, than another card will surely do it too.
This post gives me so much hope... Just sent off my first round of GW letters... Praying that they will remove my 2 30 days lates...
Absolutely! I just had multiple late payments deleted from my HSBC credit line. Send a goodwill letter. It can happen to you, too! I sent a certified letter to the regular address. I paid my balance and told them I was trying to get my credit back on track and it worked.
I'm still working on Merrick Bank -- they're tough.
I recently had success with an Old Orchard HSBC credit card account....It took two Goodwill letters and all the lates were removed .
