Initially you will get a negative hit because of having no average age of accounts and a new inquiry but over the next 6 months you will definitely see increases.  You might see increases as high as 50 points in fact.

Do you have any negative credit derogatories on your credit reports?

Yes I have 8 negatives that total 4987 and I have 0% percent credit card untilization. I would love an extra 50

I am paying off the negatives using the snowball method

I have an auto loan

Thanks for your feed back

Oh in that case you likely won't see that bounce at all unfortunately.  On a clean thin profile, adding your first credit card can have a huge effect.  On a dirty profile, it's hard to say.

I have a dirty profile and my secured cards gave me a 20ish point bump as far as I can tell.  I'm expecting a 100+ point bump once my last 2 derogatories get removed.

From my experience when I got my first Secured Credit Card I got an 80 point increase with a thin profile.

It's very possible.
