thanks Mauve, I tried looking at the PA code, but it is waaay over my head. I need to get a layman's version of what constitutes SOL and DOFD in PA. It looks like SOL is 6 years for PA.
If your DOFD is more than 7 1/2 years ago, it must be deleted from credit reporting. If your SOL has exprired, then have an affirmativie legal defense agaisnt any legal action. My reading of Pa SOL is that it is four years from date of cause of action, which is usuallty the same as your first delinquency (DOFD).
If both of these dates have tolled, then I would NOT bother to DV them. They could just hold your DV letter to be untimely, and thus just continue their collection activity.
You cease firther collection activity, at any time, by just sending them this letter:
"This is notice under FDCPA 605(c) that you are to cease all further communications with me with regard to this debt. That includes any written, telephonic, or electronic communication in any form."
Thanks! I'll be checking those dates carefully. As soon as I get a chance to check my files, I'll come back to bounce my strategy off all you for feedback.
