@JaseT wrote:@Anonymous Acceptance is on my last nerve. I paid a collection with them back in 2008 (before I knew about PFD) and they continue to report it as 120+ days late with a zero balance. It hits my FICO score hard and I'm fed up with trying to get them to fix it. I need to go to an executive @ AA and get this crap straightened out or I'm going to sue them for reporting violations!
It is legal for them to do this. The only thing hurting your score is the fact that it is a collection account. The 120 day late was your worst delinquency as reported by the OC.
However, if the debt is paid, it should be closed and they have no reason to continue reporting.
It's being reported as CURRENTLY 120+ days past due. That would not be legal. I found some other reporting violations, such as DOFD. Yesterday I filed a complaint with the ACA. 2 page complaint along with 10 pages of supporting documentation.
Blitz1030--I sent you a pm, would you mind sending me over the exec's info you have at Asset Acceptance? Thank you in advance!!!!!
Hi
I have the same issue now with asset acceptance with the the same company PSE&G untility bill. I reported Asset Acceptance to the AG,BBB, and FTc. Asset acceptance is horrible I got no where. If you are in NJ thery are not bonded to collect. I have an attorney now who is taking them to court If you want my attorneys contact information pm me. I have a class action lawsuit against them for FDCPA and FCRA violations.
All I can say is Asset Acceptance is THE WORST CA to try to deal with. I finally gave up, paid the account and I'm just waiting it out for them to drop off my CRs. They stink!
