Re: Asset Acceptance

Most companies will look for a way to settle things, especially when they are a BBB accredited company...however, it is VERY important to note that it is imperative that you always go through the proper channels and methods FIRST before going straight to the BBB. Having the timeline and the steps that you have went through to try and address whatever debt with whatever collector is REALLY important.

Officially in the garden...for like, EVER (or at least a really long time)

Re: Asset Acceptance

I just got a response from Asset acceptance as well to complaint I submitted to the BBB.  They decided to stop all collection activities on the account and request its removal from my credit files!!!!!  My question is do they truly follow with the reporting agencies and actually request the removal of the tradeline?

Re: Asset Acceptance

If you want to get a positive response from them, you must file your complaint properly and show steps you have taken that solidify your complaint.  For example call the OC and get the name of the rep and the rep employee number.  Recorded the date and time of that conversation.  download a record app into your phone to record your conversation.  State the exact violation of the FCRA they are in violation to.

Example:

I am writing to place a complaint against Name of company  for conttinue to report and update account # XXXXXXXX to my credit files to the credit reporting agencies without proper validation that the debt is mine.  I called XXXXXXXXXX and spoke to XXXXXXXX with employee IDxxxxxxxx as they state and was told they have no record of the debt.  yet, XXXXXXX continues to update and report this account.  This is a violation of the FCRA.  How can they continue to update this account without validation.

I got a response that they will request deletion within 5 days after placing my complaint via BBB.

Good Luck!!!
