Attempting to GW Sallie mae, please proofread

This is my first attemp to gw, please comment and all advice is welcome. If anybody has an idea to who i should send it to, I would appreciate that

To whom it may concern,

My name is xxxxxxx, I decided to attend college and receive my xx degree in xxxxxxx. As a divorced father of 2 kids, it was very hard and time consuming. I managed to complete my degree in xxxx. During this time I was in a lot of financial trouble. I wasn’t able to keep up with my bills. In return I wasn’t able to get my dream job as a xxxxxxxxx due to my credit report being bad. In January of xxxx I started working on my most important debts, my defaulted student loans. I entered rehabilitation with ERMC. I completed the rehabilitation process November of xxxx. These loans were picked up again by Sallie mea and are the good standing. Thank you.

Unfortunaly the old accounts are lingering in my credit reports. Can you please help me start fresh by deleting the old accounts? This would help me tremendously; I would be able to start a career in the xxxxxxxx field. In return earning a lot more pay and being able to pay off my student loans sooner than I expected. I want this degree to work in my behalf after all these years.

Looks good from waht i see. I would make sure you post your sallie mae accoutn number of the official email/letter to them. How are you sending it? Email or mail?

Thank you for your reply, Ferrari. I plan to mail it out as soon as I find out where too. I want to make sure it goes to the right people. I will edit in the xxxxxxxx on my final draft.

I went ahead and emailed my Gw letter to the office of the customer advocate today. Ill update as soon as I hear back. 

Here is a copy of a few things I read about rehab, 

Once a loan is rehabilitated, a borrower:

• Will be returned to current status and will no longer be considered delinquent
• All credit bureau histories, regarding the defaulted loan, will be removed
• Receives flexible repayment options that may extend up to nine years (ten years including the 9 rehabilitated payments) as long as the new monthly payment is greater than or equal to the original payment
• Remaining rights and responsibilities, under the existing promissory note will be available. These include but are not limited to making regular scheduled payments, deferments, cancellations, forbearance and notifying the student loan office of any change of address, phone number and name
• Eligibility for Title IV, student financial assistance will be re-established
• Any hold on transcripts, due to defaulted Perkins loans, will be removed

When I called about my rehabbed loan still reporting, I was told to dispute it and they would take it off. I just did it yesterday, and it said to take up to 30 days, so I'll see what happens.

Let me know what happens for you though.

Only thing good for me is that the new lender is now reporting paid on time because I AM paying on time. I also saw where Sallie Mae paid and closed my loans too but I'm assuming that's because they were paid off by my new lender.

Only the default status will be removed after rehab and not the lates that caused it.

Hmm..

I'm not sure about that, check out the rehab thread in the Student Loans section of this forum... It's about 69 pages long.
