Authorized user on auto loan

Does being added as an authorized user on an auto loan have the same effect as being an AU on a cc? Sadly, I dont know anyone with a good credit card history but I believe my brother has a car thats almost paid off with good history....

There is no such thing as an AU on an auto loan or any other instalment loan for that matter. Joint is only possibility and that is at the origination of the loan.
