Avenue card/ Asset Accepance

I had a Avenue card that went to collections with Asset Acceptance Corp. The OC and CA have it under  different account numbers and date opened. Is this normal, does the CA give the account a different # when it gets sent to them?

Re: Avenue card/ Asset Accepance

That's how it really gets messy! When it transfers to a CA, it don't believe it has to keep the same account #. it's a new account to a new entity. The date opened is different because it corresponds to when you first opened the account and then the date the CA took it over. So even when you clear things up with the CA, you have to back tract to the OC to make sure they aren't inappropriately reporting.
