Hi Everyone,
I am in the process of rebuilding and have posted questions here before. I was looking at a charge-off that I had from BB&T for an auto loan from 2007. The last payment I made was 2011.
Here's how it's showing on my report:
BB&T
Reported - June 2016
Last Activity - April 2012
Opened - March 2007
High Credit - $18,222
Balance - $1,411
Past Due - $0
30 Days Late - 2
60 Days Late - 1
90 Days Late - 10
Type/Rate - INS Auto 09
History - June 2016:9X9XXXXXXXXXXX
Charge-off
Most Derog: June 2016
Most Recent: April 2016 Collection - March 2012 Collection
Should this be continuing to report on my credit? The date of removal when I look at my credit reports is January 2018.
I was typing up goodwill letters as I've paid $705.94 of the $1,411 balance of which $862 was charged off. BUT, if it's time to come off, then can I just submit a dispute through the bureaus stating the account is too old?

As the DOFD is 2011, then the excluson date would be 2018.
The maximum exclusion period for a charge-off is no later than 7 years plus 180 days from the reported DOFD.
Most credit reports provide an expected exclusion date that is 7 years from the reported DOFD, so if your report shows an expected exclusion date of 01/2018, the reported DOFD is likely 01/2011.
The CRA does not become in violation of the exclusion requirement until expiration of the full 7 years plus 180 days.
Thus, a dispute of lack of exclusion should be delayed until approx. 07/2018.
I would approach by contacting the CRA and requesting an early exclusion rather than filing a formal dispute at this time.
They may agree to shave a few more months off their exclusion date.......
