Cancellation of the debt means it is discharged, but status of the debt, unpaid or discharged, has not bearing on exclusion or deletion of derogs reported on the account.
Any removal earlier than the statutory credit report exclusion period would be voluntary on the part of the creditor.
Your approach would be to send them a request for their godd-will deletion.
