Bank Levy PLEASE HEEEEELLLLLLP ME!!

To my surprise a debt collect Lev'ied my bank account..... in the the state of New jersey they must file a petition with the courts to turn over funds & then give me (10days) to object.... 

Problem is there is no Judgement filed against me nor any written documents..

How can I fight this????

In order to levy a bank account, in any state as far as I know, there has to be a judgment first.

Are you sure there is no judgment or just not one on your credit report?

I would contact your county courts to find out what is going on.  If someone got a default judgment you could possibly have it vacated and get your money returned.

You should also contact a consumer attorney in your area for legal advice.
