Becoming AU for Citi

Hi,

I had a Citi Card which was later charged off in 2003.
I have a relative who can make me as an Authorised user with Citi. Is this a good idea?

It can be if the utilization isn't high and they have perfect payment history. Unfortunately, IF and when this so called FICO 08 takes place, it won't have any bearing on your scores anymore.

I'm confused...so does AU technically count now? I was under the impression that they normally don't, but mine does.
